MINIMALISTIC BASEPLATE COMPASS FOR HIKERS AND SCOUTS

Fast, simple and accurate, A-10 baseplate compasses are quick to learn and ideal for navigating with a map and compass. For calculating the distances, A-10 has both metric and imperial scales printed in red to stand out on topographic map.

The Earth’s magnetic field does not flow evenly between the magnetic poles along the surface of the planet. To overcome this, A-10 has two variants with needles balanced for either the northern or southern hemisphere.

One is a two-zone system with needles balanced for either the northern or southern hemisphere. The second is a unique globally balanced system. A single needle is balanced to work anywhere in the world. This is achieved by a breakthrough construction allowing the needle and magnet to tilt independently.

Stable operation

The compass liquid used by Suunto is specially formulated to provide damping over a large temperature range while preventing the needle from sticking.

100% carbon offset

We offset the lifetime CO₂e emissions of each sold Suunto compass* with Verified Carbon Units via Tree-Nation. The offset is done in a reforestation project in Southeast Africa that plants trees, protects biodiversity, and supports local communities in creating sustainable livelihoods.
